The City of Woodinville awarded Stan Palmer Construction of Bremerton, Washington the construction contract to widen the Woodinville-Duvall Road from 900 feet west of 156th Avenue NE to the east city limit at 171st Avenue NE.  The work along the roadway started in April 2014 and is anticipated to be substantially completed in Spring 2015.

The project will widen the road to add a continuous two-way-left-turn-lane and bike lanes in both directions, and add two new signals; one at 160th Avenue NE and another at 171st Avenue NE.  The project will install curb, gutter, and sidewalk in both directions.  Additionally, and in coordination with the Woodinville Water District, the project will replace the existing outdated water-line, with a new water-line running the length of the project.  The final roadway will consist of three 11' lanes, two 5' bike lanes, and curb, gutter, and sidewalk on both sides.

Project History

Design of the Woodinville-DuvallRoad Widening project began in June of 2009. The first community meeting was held in September 2009. The final selection by the City Council of the preferred roadway section (shown below) occurred in April 2010. The project is now at an 85% design level and design is expected to be completed in Fall 2012. Utility relocations are scheduled to begin in summer 2012, but may start later. The City procured a $4.5 million grant from the Washington Transportation Improvement Board (TIB) in November 2011. City staff will be recommending to the City Council that the construction of this project be included in the 2013-2014 budget.

At this community meeting the design team will present the proposed improvements including details of the proposed walls, landscaping, and street lighting. City staff and the design team will be available to answer your questions and to listen to your ideas and concerns. Woodinville Water and Sewer District and Puget Sound Energy will also be available to answer questions regarding their utility relocations/improvements associated with the project. The format of the meeting will be open house style, so drop by anytime during the meeting time.

October 9, 2009: There are several different roadway section designs that the City is considering during the design of the Woodinville Duvall roadway. At the Community Meeting regarding the Woodinville Duvall Road design, held on September 17 , these roadway section design illustrations were displayed for the public to view and provide comment to staff and designers.
