Project Update - Night Time Road Construction for Culvert Replacement
WOODINVILLE, WA. – The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) has been conducting nighttime construction on 131st Ave NE in Woodinville.
Night Time Road Construction for Culvert Replacement
Construction work has been underway since December 2016 and is currently scheduled to conclude in fall 2017.
The scope of the project includes constructing an underground bridge to replace an undersized culvert (a culvert is a tunnel carrying a stream or open drain under a road or railroad).
Current traffic impacts include nightly lane closures from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. and one planned weekend road closure later this summer although no date is set for that yet.
In March, WSDOT began drilling through the roadway to create 70 large shafts for new concrete bridge piers. This work is scheduled to occur Monday-Saturday nights and will continue through the end of June. The work can be noisy at times.
For noise concerns, you may call the WSDOT toll-free 24-hour noise hotline at 888-808-4DOT (4368). Other questions or comments regarding this project can be directed to Kris Olsen, WSDOT communications, at 206-440-4704, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
