NEW! You can schedule inspections online using the City’s new Citizen Access Portal or call the inspection line at 425-489-2754. Scheduling an inspection is quick and easy through this portal.

The City of Woodinville is switching to new and improved permit software on February 26, 2018. Citizens and applicants will have access to online inspections, permit tracking, and application submittal (coming March 2018).

During the transition to new software, the City of Woodinville will be phasing out Application submittals and inspection requests will not be accepted through after May 1, 2018. Individuals who frequently do business with the City are encouraged to register early for a free account, which enables users to submit applications and schedule inspections.



Feb 26, 2018 – Woodinville’s Online Citizen Access Portal goes live Applicants will be able to schedule inspections and view application status in real time through the Citizen Access Portal. Although we encourage you to use the Citizen Access Portal, applications issued prior to February 26, 2018 may continue to use through May 1, 2018 for inspection requests.

March 2018 – Online Applications Accepted on the Citizen Access Portal
Launching in March 2018, customers will be able to use the Citizen Access Portal to apply for permits, submit plans, and pay for many types of permits online. This includes Building, Fire, Demolition, Signs, Engineering, Right-of-Way, Tree Removal, and more!

Why does Woodinville need to update permitting software?

Development Services is using a legacy system that was implemented in 2001 and is no longer supported with available updates. At this time, new software is necessary to keep up with service demand and changes in technology. The new permitting software provides significant advantages to help staff respond to citizen needs and serve customers more effectively.

How will the update affect customers?

Starting on February 26, 2018, customers will be able to use the Citizen Access Portal to request inspections. Customers will be able to request morning or afternoon inspections and leave notes for inspectors.

Starting in March 2018, customers will also be able to apply for a number of permits online through the portal.

The Department will continue to maintain through May 2018 for existing customers that wish to continue to use the system for inspection requests (applies only to permits issued before February 26, 2018) and permit submittals.

Will I still be able to use

You will be able to use through May 2018 to submit applications and request inspections for permits issued prior to February 26, 2018. Permits issued after February 26, 2018 will be required to use the Citizen Access Portal for inspection requests.

What if I want to call in my inspections?

No changes are being made to the inspection hotline. Customers can call 425-489-2754 to request inspections via phone.
