Arbor Day Celebration 2019

Celebrate Arbor Day and Plant Trees at Rotary Park
Posted on 10/15/2019
Celebrate Arbor Day by planting trees and restoring native habitat at Woodinville Rotary Community Park on Saturday, November 9, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Advanced registration is strongly encouraged, as volunteer spots are limited.

Although Arbor Day officially takes place in April, the City’s celebration will occur in the fall. That's because newly planted trees grow best in cool, wet conditions. The 2019 Arbor Day celebration will commemorate the City's twenty-third year as a designated ‘Tree City, USA,’ a national recognition for Woodinville's commitment to maintaining a healthy community forestry program.

Bring your friends and family to participate in this day of fun, which will include remarks from the Mayor and a ceremonial tree planting, followed by a restoration volunteer event held in partnership with Mountains to Sound Greenway. Tree seedlings will be provided to take home as a thank-you gift to all participants.

To register as a stewardship volunteer please visit the event page hosted on the Mountains to Sound Greenway website. All tools and training on how to plant trees are provided, and kids are welcome to take part alongside supervising adults.
